Who We Are
Consortium of Ethiopian NCD Associations
Consortium of Ethiopian Non-Communicable Diseases Association (CENCDA) is Ethiopian Consortium established on October 11, 2010.The consortium is established by five founding member organizations operating on NCDs in Ethiopia. The founding members of CENCDA include, Mathiwos Wondu -YeEthiopia Cancer Society (MWECS), YeEthiopia Cancer Association, Ethiopian Diabetes Association, Ethiopian Kidney Association and Ethiopian Heart Association. Ethiopian Thoracic Society and Alem Fre Pink House Cancer Foundation has joined the consortium as full members to enhance the fight against NCDs through collaborative efforts.
The consortium works on awareness, education, capacity building activities and encourages the public to recognize Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and protect themselves from its impact. CENCDA, has been working along with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders in its advocacy role to increase awareness of NCDs among the wider population.
CENCDA started project implementation on 2020 entitled “Advocacy for strengthening Consortium of Ethiopian NCD Associations/CENCDA/ to scale up Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) advocacy and response in Ethiopia.” Although the consortium started its operation recently, it achieved ample track records. So far it identified key advocacy priority areas and pillars of its strategic plans.
